Travis and I met through mutual friends three years ago. The day I met him he actually had no idea he was being set up on a blind date. When he finally figured out I was the girl his friend had been talking about, he was quick to tell me "You know, I am never getting married." Well, it looks like I was able to change that boy's mind! We were engaged two years later! Cinderella has always been my favorite princess. So when it came time for Travis to propose he knew exactly how to make my fairy tale come true. I had a fairy godmother who brought me a gorgeous dress and sparkly new shoes (that looked close to a glass slipper), and he proposed to me in a grand ball room! Our wedding plans were put on hold after receiving news that Travis would be deployed very quickly. We planned to have our wedding the following year when he returned home. During the first two months of Travis's training for his deployment he was stationed in Texas. We both knew we wanted to get married and two weeks before he was to be deployed overseas I married my prince charming. Picking out the dress is what every girl dreams about. I wen't to Allyse's hoping to find something elegant and just right for our special day. After trying on several dresses I put on this one and knew it was "The One!" My family and the Allyse's Bridal consultants all agreed that this was the perfect dress for me.     I couldn't have asked for a better day. Our photographer, Julie Dawn Photography, was able to capture all of the happiness, excitement, and love we had that day. We are so thankful for the love and support from all of our family and friends and for Allyse's Bridal for helping make my fairy tale a reality.

Tyler and I lived in Carriage Cove, BYU student housing, and were members of the same ward and FHE group; what better place to look? Well, naturally, we became friends and I spent a lot of time at his apartment...We were playing soccer on the same BYU intramural team and had a ton in common, but I was over there so much mainly because I had started dating his roommate... Fortunately, that didn't work out and Tyler was there to pick up my broken heart :) After I finally made the right choice in roommates, Tyler and I quickly fell in love and became engaged at a Family Reunion in Park City.
My favorite parts of the wedding day: It's hard to choose just one but I think the best moment EVER was when Tyler and I were finally married, standing together with our family and friends. It was such a wonderful feeling of love and excitement and I could not believe that I was lucky enough to have this man as mine for forever. That's a feeling that hasn't gone away. My other favorite parts were 1. having soo much family around! Most of my relatives live far away (my immediate family is in GA, where I'm from!) so it was a real treat to see so many of them gathering together to celebrate our wedding. And not to mention our great friends that came out to support us as well!
2. My younger brother Ethan's rap. He has a special talent for lyrics and rapping and he really stole the show with his rap.
3. The food! My cousin was/ is a professional chef and the food was delicious! We had a soup/salad bar and it was exquisite!
4. My final favorite part was at the end of the day, leaving the reception, driving off with my man and never having to be separate from him again!

Another aspect of my reception in Georgia that I loved is that we shared it with my brother. My older brother and I got married very close together and had the great idea of a joint reception in Georgia! This was a blast because he and I are close and also because he married one of my friends/previous roommate! She also wore a dress from Allyse's Bridal!!

The BEST part of all of this was that I get to remember every detail and every moment because of the fabulous work of our photographer: Rebecca Loren Photography.  I honestly am astounded every time I look at the photographs she took. LOVE THEM ALL! She truly caught the magic of my special day and I will treasure them forever.

Jesse and I met in the fall of 2009.  We lived in the same building and one day I was baking banana bread in my apartment and he caught the smell and quickly came to meet me and eat the entire loaf.  We went on a couple of dates that semester and  became really good friends.  We dated that winter semester and then did long distance over the summer break.  We broke up when he got back, but got back together very quickly.  The next two semesters were so fun and we realized that we were meant for each other.  We got engaged in June and then headed to the middle east for 4 months.  Jerusalem became my home and Jordan was his.  We were only 45 miles apart, but we were only able to see each other once.  We came back to the states right before Christmas and were married a week later.  Being married to Jesse has been the most delightful and beautiful adventure of my life.

I had originally wanted to make my dress, but went dress shopping the day after we got engaged at Allyse's Bridal.  The second I came out in the dress, my parents and I knew that it was “my dress.”  The store manager sealed the deal when she put the most beautiful veil in my hair and it was exactly what I wanted.  I ended up making my shoes instead of making my dress, and I loved how they turned out.

The day was so peaceful and blissful.  My favorite part was definitely the ceremony itself.  When we walked into the room we were to be married in, saw our families and close friends waiting for us, I was overwhelmed with love and total gratitude.  The moment that we went from being single to married was the best moment of my entire life.

We used Anna James for our photography and we loved how she captured our day for us.

Most girls have dreamed of Prom Night since they were little girls. They dreamed of walking in and being the belle of the ball. Our goal is to help each girl, whatever your shape or size may be to find the perfect dress that will fulfill your dream of being a princess for the night.

First, you need to know that the perfect prom dress is out there waiting for you, it has your name on it and we will help you find it! Whether you've always dreamed of wearing a Cinderella ball gown, something slender and chic, simple, or even sassy, you can relax and know that our goal is to make your dream become a reality. As you begin the shopping process here are a few tips to help you pock your perfect dress.
  1. Shop with an open mind: Most girls have envisioned their dream dress since they were little. However, when prom time actually homes around, many discover that their original dress choice doesn't quite look and feel comfortable on them. Whether you are shopping with us online at Beautifullymodest.com, or at one of retail locations, give yourself plenty of time so that you an try on different styles and cuts. Our trained consultants have sold thousands of dresses and are ready to help you, offer suggestions and open your mind to different ideas. With hundreds of dress styles to choose from, you and your consultant will be in for an exciting shopping experience.
  2. Don't wait too long to begin shopping: Boys...what is it about them? Why do they always seem to wait until the last minute to ask? Many times we have girls come in the day of prom because their date waited until the last minute to ask. We are eager to help you no matter what your timeline is, but to ensure that you get the dress you want, start shopping now.The more time we have, the better chance you have of finding the perfect dress.
  3. Dress for your body type: One of the oldest rules of fashion is that different body shapes look better in different dress cuts. No matter what your shape may be, we will find the dress for you! We are one of the only stores in the nation with a size range from 0-30.Our trained consultants will help show you the styles that will enhance your features. Here are a few tips to remember. 1)Pear-shaped girls look fabulous in ball gowns. They accentuate your tiny waistline and hide any lower problem areas that you might have. 2)Athletic body types look curvier with an empire waist. These dresses cut right under the bust line and then flow away from the body. 3)Petite girls often look best in princess cuts. The long lines and lack of a defined waist on a princess cut dress will lengthen out your body and make you appear taller than you are.Remember, these are only tips! The perfect dress is one that makes you look your very best and feel the most confident!
  4. Find the right fit: Numbers.Sizes are only numbers. Don't worry about the size of your dress; the important thing is to choose the one which feels (and looks) the best!No one will see the number on the tag, so don't try to fit into something which is too tight. Not only will the fabric pull in an unflattering manner, but you will feel uncomfortable on your prom night. Also, remember that many dresses will need alterations to create the perfect fit. If you are purchasing your gown at our retail location in Utah, it is an excellent opportunity to have one of our renowned seamstresses add unique flair to your dress and customize the dress to fit your perfectly!

We interviewed our top consultants at Alysse's Bridal to find what makes the difference between and chaotic experience and a magical one. The brides that followed these 10 tips had a far superior experience:

  1. Establish a budget: A reasonable amount of your budget to set aside for your dress is 15%. For example, if your total wedding budget is $10,000 you could have $1,500 set aside for a dress or the total budget is $5,000, you should set aside $750. We have a wide selection of dress that can accommodate any budget.
  2. Prioritize your budget: Many brides have one or two top priorities, like the dress and photography. Cut back in another area like catering and invitations so that you can be thrilled with what is most important to you.
  3. Plan your shopping party carefully: Only bring people that make you feel great about yourself when dress shopping. Remember, the more people you bring, the more opinions you will have thrown at you. Once you find your perfect dress, you don't want to have your love for it tainted by a jealous naysayer.
  4. Eat before you shop: Make sure that you have plenty of energy before you embark to find your perfect dress. Skipping one meal isn't going to make you look more beautiful in your dress. Try and bring a water bottle for you and your party.
  5. Plan for an hour: Most brides take about one hour to find their dress and try on about six dresses. If you have any special circumstances that could make your experience take longer or specialized treatment, let the store know before hand so we can help you the best we can.
  6. Be honest and upfront with your consultant: If you are planning on having a religous ceremony take place in your dress, let them know. If you love petal sleeves, tell your consultant. Our consultants want to find you your perfect dress and they know the dresses like the back of their hand. The more you can communicate what you need from your dress and what you like and dislike, the faster they can find you 'your' dress.
  7. Be ready from top to bottom: Make sure to wear a supportive bra and ask your consultant to bring you a slip and shoes to try on with your dress. Also, having your hair and makeup done similarly to your big day will help you envision your dream.
  8. Start looking early: The majority of our dresses are sold off the rack, but occasionally we have brides that need to do a special order. These take at least 16 weeks. Alterations also take anywhere from 4-6 weeks and need to be completed before Bridal portraits can be taken. Most photographers ask for 6 weeks to edit these photos so they can be displayed on the day of the wedding.
  9. White vs. Ivory: Try and be flexible in your preference in white or ivory. Most color schemes can accommodate both and most of our ivory dresses are a diamond white. Many brides are nervous that there is a taboo associated with wearing an ivory dress at their wedding. However, most people will not even notice that the gown is ivory but will notice that you look fabulous.
  10. Enjoy your experience: If any aspect of the wedding planning gets too stressful, take a breather. Try and keep in mind that all of these events are happening because you fell in love with your sweetheart and are marrying your best friend. Let the funny ups and downs in your planning bring you closer to your fiance, family, and friends.

The Story:
Cory and I both grew up in Idaho Falls, but we went to different high schools so we didn't meet until we started working together back in 2007.  I was immediately enamored with him!  We worked together up until he left on his mission in 2009, we wrote back and forth a few times and when he got home he asked me out; it was a whirlwind romance from then on!
The details:
Their wedding colors were plum, mustard, grey, and ivory. They wanted a beautiful, vintage feel for their wedding so they used a lot of soft lace, delicate antiques and photos of grandparents.
A bit about the dress. I wasn't even engaged when I bought it but I fell in love with it and had to get it so no one else could! Since I was getting married in November I wanted longer sleeves, so Allyse's wonderful seamstress added them for me and they turned about perfect. I loved my dress so much!
My favorite moment from our wedding day was when we got to spend a few quiet minutes together before the ceremony started. It was just us, no one else was around and we got to think about the promises we were about to make, and all the adventures and different things that would come with it. It was just about us and I loved it, it made the day even more special.
Her photographer was Jaclyn Davis.

Kennedy and Kyle

Our Story

Kyle and I met in kindergarten. Sadly, he does not remember me, but I sure remember that cute little boy sitting in the back row. Through elementary school, Kyle thought I was weird and I thought he was very handsome. My family moved into his ward/neighborhood when I turned 12, and I thought he was the greatest thing. We became good friends, and I grew to really respect him. In high school we tried dating, which did not go very well. However, both of us knew that we wanted one more chance to make it work. When Kyle came home from his LDS mission, the first night I visited with him was so wonderful, and it felt like coming home for me. We fell in love all over again, and he proposed January 22. Not too long before we were to be married, we found out that Kyle had been diagnosed with cancer and we had to move up our wedding day to not interfere with upcoming surgeries. Marrying Kyle was the best decision I ever made and the day was the happiest day of my life.

Their Style:
I wanted a vintage, eclectic, and romantic feel for our garden wedding. Finding the dress was quite the ordeal, but the wonderful consultants at Allyse's finally found my dress. I tried on the b2022 and fell completely in love with it! We altered the dress from a v to a sweetheart neckline and it was perfect!
We used Paige Davis for our photography and Debbie Hiller for our flowers. Both turned out beautifully!
My mom and I spent a ton of time sorting through different thrift stores looking for old bottles, crates, frames, etc. We ended up borrowing a lot of different pieces from neighbors and friends. Because it ended up snowing on our big day, (April 29, go figure) we had to move the reception from our garden to a church house. We rented live trees and shrubs from a nursery and it was absolutely beautiful! A favorite detail was our heritage display. We put up both our parent's and grandparent's wedding photo along with their wedding dresses. It was a neat way to honor them as part of the wedding.
I also wore my mother's wedding shoes and my great-grandmother's necklace.
Highlight of the wedding:
My favorite moment of the day was the peace and the happiness I felt in the temple. We had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time in the Celestial room, and it brought the peace we needed during the previous week. We loved the feeling of love that surrounded us through that time.

Melissa and Sean

Step One:Fall in Love
Our story starts when I was fourteen, and I met my best friend at EFY. Four years later at college, she introduced me to one of her good friends that she grew up with (my husband). I'm ashamed to say, I didn't have any interest in him. Eventually, he got my number and we spent a lot of time talking. A lot. We talked every single day and became best friends. I found myself falling in love with him. Sean asked me out on our first date in April. We went mini golfing and spent hours sitting in his car talking like old friends. I was completely smitten. On July 4th, we decided to exclusively date each other. We spent every single day together despite the 40 minute commute between us.On my birthday, May 22, 2011 he proposed to me at the location of our first kiss one year earlier. It was the most perfect proposal. We were married 2 1/2 months later in the LDS Bountiful Temple. Never has anyone made me so happy and feel so alive. He is my best friend.
Step Two:Plan the Wedding
Melissa and Sean used their favorite colors, pink and aqua, for their wedding palate. They used colorful cupcakes, lanterns, flowers, and bridal party outfits to incorporate them into their wedding. Her beautiful mock-mermaid gown was the b3030 in ivory. Jen Herem photography captured their personalities in both their bridals and on their big day. They had their reception at the Utah Capital Building Terrace in Salt Lake
Step Three: Get Married
Melissa and Sean were married in the LDS Bountiful, UT Temple. Melissa said that their favorite moment of the day happened between our wedding ceremony and reception. "We were starving but had little time because we had to get pictures taken. We went through the drive through of Carls Jr. (we never eat fast food, but we were desperate) and ate spicy chicken sandwiches. It was such a simple moment out of our busy day. It was a great time to relax and spend time together."
Step Four: Love How it All Turned Out
